About the Tooled Up research partner scheme (TURPS)

If you work in a public research institution or university that is doing research on any aspect of parenting, family life or education, you might be eligible to become a Tooled Up Research Partner or Partner Institute. We are particularly interested in research on the broad themes of wellbeing, mental health, digital life, learning, aspiration and family relationships.

What is the aim of the TURPS scheme?

• To promote public engagement with research.
• To underline the importance of research-informed approaches to the general public.
• To promote and disseminate the research of the world’s most eminent researchers.
• To make research findings more accessible to those working with children and young people every day.
• To create a community of research-active schools and facilitate research participation.

What are the benefits of becoming a partner?

• Free promotion of your research or publications to our Tooled Up school and corporate community.
• Free promotion of your work to any media outlets that approach us for expert contributors.
• We invite you to do an initial podcast with us that is circulated to a wide, global audience (listening figures are shared with you every six months).
• Quantitative feedback when your research has been mentioned in our public talks and idea of audience size reached.
• We collaborate with you to ensure that your research findings find a home in the Tooled Up library and are able to be viewed, read and digested by an expanding audience.
• Reciprocal social media following and retweets of relevant research content.

What does it cost?

Nothing. If your application is successful, a wonderful reciprocal relationship is ignited and we look forward to sharing your work with the world!
