Studying Shakespeare?

Is your teen working towards their GCSEs? Macbeth is a key GCSE text for many young people and we are extremely excited to share the arrival of our new Supporting Macbeth resources with our Tooled Up community. These are revision resources for Macbeth written with parental engagement and home study in mind.

The resources provide structured questions through which parents and teachers can assess and develop a student’s confidence with Macbeth. Clearly annotated and explained extracts from the play are provided for further investigation and note-making, and will be a brilliant source of key quotations. These visually engaging resources are perfect for teachers to use for homework tasks or for parents who’d like to be more involved in helping their children revise for the Literature exam.

Tooled up users can find Supporting Macbeth and the accompanying notebook for key quote and phrases in the library now. Our new English Literature section also features other resources on this topic, including advice on writing a great introduction, a quick round up of key motifs from the play and some top tips for parents on the Shakespeare exam.

The resources have been created by Patrick Cragg, an experienced English teacher and GCSE examiner, and owner of the popular @GCSE_Macbeth Twitter account.

We look forward to receiving your impressions and feedback on Tooled Up’s first entry into English Literature support.
